Apparently there are a few GTR oweners in the US that have found out the hard way that Nissan will not honour the warranty if the VDC is turned off. A growing number of owners have blown gearboxes, some driving aggressively, some not. That seems crazy to me! Why would they sell a car with a button that effectively voids the warranty. Not only that, it's not something they publicise. And in order to use launch control you need to have VDC off, so to achieve the 3.5 secs for the 0 - 100 that Nissan are claiming, you will be voiding the warranty. Anything breaks, it's not covered. So what you have is a car that can do 0 - 100 in 3.5 secs but the reality is, it's more like 4 - 4.2 secs because 90% of folk are going to be keeping that VDC on. It's a bad analogy, but it's like a car company claiming great times for their new car, using some petrol additive. But if you were to use the same additive, your warranty will be voided. So you never do and your car is never as quick as it's claimed.
